Specification :
Characteristice: A medium molecular weight resin containing approximately 83 percent vinyl chloride, 16 percent vinyl acetate, and 1 percent maleic acid. Because of the carboxyl functional group, VMC has excellent adhesion on metal, especially on aluminum foil, the resin foil also has a good adhesion on PVC, ABS, paper, textiles, beton, etc. At the same time, VMC has excellent water resistance, oil, ester, acid, alkali and salt water solution resistance.
Solubility: Ketone is a particularly good solvent, and ester is the relatively weak solvent. Chlorinated hydrocarbons such as dichloroethane and 1, 2 - dichloroethane can completely dissolve VMC, and methyl chloroform and tetrachloroethane can only swell it. Aromatic hydrocarbons have a good role in the swelling, generally using with ketone.
VMC is more soluble than VAMA in ketones, and other solvents used to dissolve vinyl resins. VMC also has a higher tolerance for aromatic hydrocarbon diluents. When dissolved in a suitable solvent system, such as a 50 percent ketone/ 50 percent aromatic hydrocarbon, resin solutions of 25 to 28 percent solids can be achieved.
Application: VMC can be used in air-dry finishes, such as maintenance, marine, metal, can coatings, aluminum foli varnish, interbedded adhesive, thermal trans
